MY REVIEW:

You want to learn more about extinct species in America?  This book takes a glimpse at some of the species that we can protect in our own country.  When I first picked this book up and scanned it briefly at my local library I was deeply saddened.  The portraits of the animals featured in this book are haunting, beautiful and sad all at once.  You can visually see the spirits of these animals and why our world needs to continue the protection of all species whether extinct or not.

The stories of these animals who need our protection will touch your heart.  The fate of the Columbia Basin Pygmy Rabbit and Dusky Seaside Sparrow will sadden and anger you.  Why do we continually destroy precious ecosystems without figuring out the consequences  before the damage is done.  Please get to know your animal neighbors and learn how you can protect them and make a difference in your community.
