The Circle of Angels is a nonprofit organization in Southern Maryland that advocates programs against domestic violence, importance of mentoring programs and help people during difficult times.  Their mission is to  “ befriend the lost, bring our strengths to initiatives, promote solutions, work to empower people, mentor in community initiatives and entrepreneurship and always ROAR (Resources Or Aid Referral).”

For the past three years they have hosted the annual USO Night that remembers all veterans especially those who fought during World War II.  Within the past year they also have plans to create a documentary in which first person testimony from WWII veterans.  The plans of creating this documentary have been put on hold due to limited funding and volunteers.

In 2011 the Circle of Angels has plans to have a WWII day celebration to remember and connect with surviving veterans with the community.  The day will include WWII displays, a photography exhibit, encampment, weapon demonstrations, live 1940s band, period dancing and shopping.  In order to make this event possible they are still looking for WWII units and sutlers.
